Our Approach To Dementia & Alzheimer's Support

Is it possible to receive dementia care at home instead of moving into residential care?

Yes, many people living with dementia can continue to live safely at home with the right level of support. Our services are designed to adapt as needs change, helping individuals remain in a familiar and comfortable environment for as long as possible.

Can you support families and carers as well?

Yes, we provide guidance, reassurance, and respite care for families and carers. Our goal is to support not just the individual, but everyone involved in their care.

Can support be increased as dementia progresses?

Yes, our services are flexible and can be adjusted as needs change. We regularly review care plans to ensure the right level of support is always in place.

Can I have the same caregiver each visit?

Wherever possible, we provide consistent caregivers so you can build trust and feel comfortable with familiar faces.

How do you manage changes in behaviour or confusion?

Our team is trained to respond with patience and understanding. We use calm communication, consistent routines, and person-centred strategies to reduce distress and support emotional wellbeing.

Need a New Care Provider? Here’s How to Switch

If your current care no longer feels right, changing providers can help you access the support, reliability, and service you deserve.

1. Find a New Provider

Start by researching and choosing a provider that better suits your needs, preferences, and level of support with availability to take you on.

2. Notify Your Current Provider

Let your existing provider know you intend to change and review any required notice periods or exit steps (usually 2 weeks).

3. Transfer Your Care

Contact My Aged Care to request your referral code for changing providers, then give this code to your new provider when setting up your new agreement.
